Year 13 begins the final stage of the IB Diploma Programme. Bilingual students may be managing English A alongside Chinese A or Chinese B while also preparing for assessed work, oral components, mock examinations and university applications.
Course Cycle 1 focuses on identifying the weaknesses most likely to affect final grades in both languages. English A and Chinese A students may work on close analysis, essay structure, evidence selection, academic expression and oral preparation, while Chinese B students may focus on vocabulary, language accuracy, text types, reading, listening, writing and spoken confidence.
Teaching across both languages is coordinated around the student’s current grades, school deadlines and examination priorities. The aim is to bring important work under control early, strengthen performance in both subjects and establish a clear plan for the months leading to final examinations.
